Netflix in partnership with the Ukrainian Film Academy and EAVE launches a new round of support for Ukrainian films

Netflix and the Ukrainian Film Academy renew their partnership for a 5th year supporting Ukrainian filmmakers and the country’s film industry affected by the war. Throughout its editions, the initiative has consistently supported  Ukrainian filmmakers through mentorship, capacity building, new professional opportunities, and financial assistance. The program again provides support at the script development stage — a crucial phase in shaping the artistic concept, ensuring dramaturgical coherence, and defining the project’s overall strategy, which is decisive for production, international codelivered-production, and distribution.

Eligible Projects:

  • Original director-driven fiction feature films of 70 minutes and longer at the development stage at the date of submission.

The Program Offers:

  • 15 grants of $15,000 each* for script development for Ukrainian director-driven feature-length original fiction films. Applications will be evaluated by international experts who must not be affiliated with the submitted projects.

  • At the end of the program, the grant recipients’ project teams will receive an English translation of their script and participate in exclusive sessions with experts from EAVE – European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs. During these sessions, they will receive consultations from script doctors and producers focused on project positioning and financing strategies.

  • Additionaly, participants will be able to join the In-Conversation sessions led, among others, by producer Anna Kępińska and screenwriter Kasper Bajon (The High Water, Heweliusz), and by screenwriters Klara Kochańska-Bajon and Nina Lewandowska (Mothers of Penguins).

Call to entries is open from March 2 to March 30, 2026.

Key Program Deadlines:

  • From 11:00:00 on March 2, 2026, to 15:59:59 on March 30, 2026 – acceptance of applications from participants;
